I was born in Middelburg in the Eastern Cape and matriculated at Burgersdorp High School. I have a diploma in Criminal Law and Police Administration. I joined the SAPS in 1986 and am currently the Head of Detectives in Durban North.
My love for wildlife started from when I was young and lived on a farm (see our story) and visiting wildlife parks. I always wanted to be part of a charity but never knew what. Only years later as part of a dehorning and darting experience with my girlfriend Tanya, I realized that I want to be part of saving our wildlife and conserving their natural habitat for generations to come. Africa for Africa was born. I also want the youth to be part of the journey, hence the inclusion of my two daughters and Daniel, Tanya’s son, in the company.
